GWA Level 2 is a 2 days course without an exam. You will be able to learn in-depth knowledge about German Wines through tasting over 24 typical wines from major regions and grape varieties. The course is suitable for German wine enthusiasts and wine professionals.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
The course covers five chapters: the evolution of German wines (history, current status, regulations), Riesling and its important winegrowing areas, Pinot Noir and its important wine growing areas, other varieties, and German Sekt. The certified German Wine Academy educator, Ms. Corinne Mui will lead you through the course by tasting over 24 wines varied in quality levels, grape varieties and regions to demonstrate the thousand faces of German Wines.
Upon completion of the course, there is no exam required. Instead, participants will receive a participation certificate issued by the DWI.
The course will cover:
- Evolution of German Wines: history, current industry, and regulations
- Riesling & its important growing areas
- Spätburgunder & its important growing areas
- Other grape varieties
- German Sekt
You’ll be able to taste 24 quality wines from different major regions including grape varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder etc…Some of them are not easy to get from the market. Through the comprehensive tasting, you will be able to learn the climate, soil, the grape varieties and other facts of each region.
